In September 2025, we announced that built-in AI is available on Chromebook Plus. As of Chrome 144, the Translator API is supported, along with all of the other built-in AI APIs. This API is in Chrome Stable, which means that on Chromebook Plus, and other desktop platforms (macOS, Windows, and Linux), it just works.
You can build features with the Translator API to support users writing in their first language. For example, you could support multilingual customer support, like Policybazaar built for their website. Other dynamic multilingual features may include translating live captioning or quick multilingual editing for blog posts.
